Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Treasure Floated Out

The sky was filled with fireworks and the air with the sounds of Disney’s familiar tune “When You Wish Upon A Star” being played from the ship’s mouse ears shaped horn as Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Treasure was floated out of Hall 6 on Saturday, August 3, 2024. She has been under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany since January 2023.

With Captain Minnie Mouse on hand and sporting her new themed Captain’s gear, Disney Treasure was guided out of the building by a tug to ensure she was not damaged during the transition. Adventurer Minnie Mouse also graces the bow of Disney Treasure.

The next steps for Disney Treasure include the completion of tall exterior items that could not be completed inside Hall 6, her interior, and then her conveyance down the River Ems for her sea trials. All of this will take several weeks, but she is on schedule to be handed over to Disney Cruise Line before her maiden sailing in December 2024. Once deemed seaworthy and complete, Disney Treasure will make her transatlantic crossing to her homeport of Port Canaveral, Florida.

Disney Treasure is the first Disney Cruise Line ship to receive her own signature song, “Live the Adventure.” The song was recorded by singer-songwriter Jordin Sparks and released in March 2024. She will debut a new show, “Disney: The Tale of Moana” as well as a “Haunted” bar. She will also be home to several new dining venues featuring “The Aristocats,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Coco,” and “Zootopia.” Additionally, several familiar spaces are being reimagined for Disney Treasure

The maiden voyage of Disney Treasure is a 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary embarking on December 21, 2024, and sailing over Christmas bringing even more Disney magic to the holidays. She will then sail seven-night itineraries to both the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
