Norwegian Cruise Line Expanding Military Appreciation Program

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the expansion of its Military Appreciation Program to include active members of the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Canadian Air Force and Canadian Coast Guard, veterans and their dependents. As of August 6, 2024, onboard experiences, amenities and the 10% cruise fare discount is available to both members of the United States and Canadian military across the entire Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.

“The NCL family is committed to supporting the military community, and it is an honor to expand the benefits of our Military Appreciation Program to our allies in Canada,” said David J. Herrera, who served in the U.S. Army National Guard and is the President of Norwegian Cruise Line. “It is a privilege to welcome men and women who have bravely served their countries, along with their families, on board our ships.”

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Military Appreciation Program, which was developed by veterans, began in November 2022 recognizing United States service members, veterans, retired military and their spouses by offering a 10% cruise fare discount across the cruise line’s fleet. The offer can be combined with NCL’s Free at Sea package giving guests an unlimited open bar, specialty dining, credit on shore excursions, and more. Military guests and their families will also be invited to an on-board reception and receive various gifts.

The validation process for service members is a secure digital identity network called ID.me. Members of the military are able to verify their identity once and never have to re-verify anywhere ID.me is accepted. If you are already registered, you are just one step closer.

“The expansion of our Military Appreciation Program is a testament to our organization’s passion for supporting and giving back to military service members,” said Derek Lloyd, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Canada-based Vice President of Sales for North America. “Fostering a sense of community and providing military members with a welcoming environment to relax with family and friends is an honor for Norwegian Cruise Line.”

Since the inception of the NCL Military Appreciation Program nearly 200,000 military members have registered with more than 150,000 having booked a cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line.
