Disney Cruise Line recently shared a progress update on Disney Treasure and revealed the completed ship’s bow artwork. Following the Disney Cruise Line fleet’s two-decades-long tradition of carrying a unique character-inspired art piece on the bow of a ship, Captain Minnie Mouse, in her signature adventure-themed outfit and surrounded by a filigree of silhouettes of other Disney characters, is now completed marking an exciting milestone for Disney Treasure.
The update for Disney Treasure was shared as the ship remains inside Hall 6 at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The installation process of Captain Minnie Mouse on the ship’s bow began by the shipyard team welding pre-cut steel plates to Disney Treasure’s hull. Once secure, the plates were then hand-painted and sealed with a special topcoat to protect Captain Minnie during her sailings.
With the completion of this milestone, Disney Treasure is one step closer to completion in time for her maiden voyage from Port Canaveral, Florida on December 21, 2024. Her maiden voyage is a 7-night roundtrip sailing that includes ports of call in Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, and Disney Cruise Line’s private island of Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.
After returning to Port Canaveral on December 28, 2024, Disney Treasure will alternate Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages through May 2025. Western Caribbean itineraries will include ports of call at George Town in Grand Cayman, Falmouth in Jamaica as well as the cruise line’s private island Castaway Cay.
