Welcome to the weekly Cruise News Digest.
Let’s dive in!
This Monday, we looked a little at the history and background of Royal Caribbean International. Tomorrow, we will begin diving into the cruise line’s various classes of ships.
Royal Caribbean announced that three of its ships–Ovations of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Liberty of the Seas–will be upgraded through its Royal Amplification program in 2026. While each ship will receive its specific upgrades, they will all receive pool deck upgrades and new dining venues.
Carnival Cruise Line’s newest exclusive destination–Celebration Key–is opening soon and the cruise line shared a preview of what guests can expect while visiting. On July 19, 2025, Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy will host a ceremony officially opening the destination. Carnival Vista and her passengers will be the first to visit.
MSC Cruises raced to the big screen this week as its branding and logo were featured in the action-packed film, F1 The Movie. The cruise line is a global partner of Formula 1, meaning its branding can be found trackside and its name is included in various World Grand Prix races as the title sponsor. This partnership was recently extended through 2030.
All 16 ships in the Princess Cruises fleet have been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. This is the second time the cruise line has won this prestigious award. Princess Cruises is the only cruise line to receive awards across its entire fleet.
Here is my review of Paradise Beach Cozumel from my visit during our Carnival Cruise Line Western Caribbean cruise aboard Carnival Paradise.
