MSC Cruises Races to the Big Screen

MSC Cruises is hitting the big screen as it takes center stage in the racing drama film, F1 The Movie. The cruise line has partnered with the movie from Apple Original Films, director/producer/co-writer Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer with its branding and logo appearing on the Formula 1 cars, racing gear and across the track.

F1 The Movie stars Brad Pitt and Damson Idris as drivers on a Formula 1 racing team. The film follows the lead character, played by Pitt, a former driver making a comeback with the fictional APXGP racing team.  MSC Cruises is featured as the racing team’s sponsor whose branding and logo are prominent throughout the action-packed story.

Making it even more exciting, the film was shot during actual Formula 1 Grand Prix race weekends over past seasons. MSC Cruises has been a global partner with Formula 1 since 2022 meaning the film includes footage that portrays authentic MSC Cruises racetrack branding.

“This film captures the same spirit that drives our people on board and ashore every day: world-class performance, precision, and teamwork,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of the Cruise Division, MSC Group. “Formula 1 and MSC Cruises are both built on innovation and a relentless pursuit of excellence—on land and at sea. We are proud to see our partnership brought to life on the big screen.”

MSC Cruises recently announced it will continue as a global partner of Formula 1 through 2030, including continuing as title sponsor for some World Championship Grand Prix races–three in 2025. Not only will MSC Cruises be included in the name of these races, but its branding will continue to be featured trackside.

In May, MSC Group’s luxury brand, Explora Journeys, took part in the action when its newest ship, Explora II, made an appearance at Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2025. Going forward fans will also begin to see Explora Journeys featured at select Grand Prix races.

F1 The Movie premieres in theaters and IMAX in North America on June 27, 2025.
