Welcome to the weekly Cruise News Digest. Here you can catch up on the past week’s cruise news and all things La Lido Loca

Let’s dive in!

Carnival Cruise LIne has added another level to its internet plan. The Multi-Device Premium Wi-Fi Plan supports up to 4 devices for working professionals or families traveling together. The Multi-Device plan starts at $75 per day for up to four devices, but is a discount as compared to purchasing the Premium Wi-Fi Plan for an equivalent number of devices.

Royal Caribbean International is returning to Labadee, Haiti as soon as October 2024. The cruise line suspended all calls to its private beach in Haiti in March of 2024 due to violence and political instability, but feels that recent developments in airline travel and peace-keeping efforts makes it safe to return to the Caribbean nation.

Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin, surprised guests aboard all three Lady ships when he performed weddings across Virgin Voyages’ Celebration Voyages this month. The weddings kicked off Virgin Voyages’ new “I Do” wedding packages that will debut in April 2025.

Carnival Spirit will sail a series of Carnival Journeys voyages that include Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal. She is currently sailing a 14-night journey throughout Alaska and British Columbia. Her second Carnival Journeys voyage is a 15-night voyage to the Hawaiian Islands and Canada, followed by a one-way 16-night Panama Canal cruise that sails to New Orleans via Central America.

Explora Journeys celebrated milestones for three ships this week. Hosted by the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy, the Italian shipbuilder commemorated the delivery of EXPLORA II, the coin ceremony of EXPLORA III and the steel cutting for EXPLORA IV. Explora Journeys is one–or three–steps closer to its goal of a six ship fleet by 2028.

Royal Caribbean International’s Rhapsody of the Seas was to embark on its next sailing today, but had to cancel due to a lifeboat being damaged. This made the ship over capacity for lifeboat seats meaning she cannot sail with passengers. Royal Caribbean is compensating guests and should resume sailing by next week.
