Royal Caribbean International Returning to Labadee

It appears Royal Caribbean International is ready to return to Labadee, Haiti. The cruise line suspended all calls to its private beach in Haiti in March 2024 due to violence and political instability. However, recent social media posts to guests asking about the cruise line’s private destination state that due to recent developments in airline travel and peace-keeping efforts, the cruise line now feels comfortable returning to the Caribbean nation as soon as October 2024.

Royal Caribbean International does have its own security and controlled access in Labadee. Only Royal Caribbean guests and employees are able to enter the private destination. The US Embassy in Haiti states the following about the cruise line’s exclusive area, “Labadee, a port near Cap Haitien in the north – only accessible by cruise ship passengers – has private security and low rates of reported crime. Travelers should exercise reasonable precautions.”

A quick search of the Royal Caribbean website shows that Labadee, Haiti is on the itinerary of Adventure of the Seas which embarks from Port Canaveral in Orlando, Florida on October 5, 2024. The 6-night Eastern Caribbean & Perfect Day itinerary includes a sea day on October 6, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic on October 7, Labadee, Haiti on October 8, followed by another sea day before a final stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas on October 10 and disembarkation on October 11.

Other ships visiting Labadee in October include Freedom of the Seas and Independence of the Seas from Miami, Florida. Grandeur of the Seas, embarking from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will also visit the destination in November 2024. It is expected that the ships will keep Labadee on their Caribbean schedule for the winter.

As always, Royal Caribbean International prioritizes the safety and security of its crew and guests and will make itinerary changes as needed.
