Let’s dive in!

Norwegian Cruise Line is making more changes. First, they have once again reached out to guests booked on the Norwegian Spirit letting them know their cruises have been canceled. Due to “fleet redeployment” cruises in May and June 2024 and February through November 2025 have all been canceled.

Next, they are canceling current production shows on nine of its vessels over the next several months. There is no word with what is coming, but NCL says they are making the changes in order to “exceed the expectations” of its onboard guests.

Royal Caribbean was full of exciting news this week with the debut of two new ships in 2024!

Icon of the Seas, the world’s biggest cruise ship, reached a significant milestone when she began a series of sea trials.. Meyer Turku announced last week that the vessel was currently at sea to ensure that all the ship’s main equipment was working as it should be. Icon of the Seas is expected to sail her maiden voyage in early 2024.

Royal Caribbean also announced that Utopia of the Seas will be homeporting from Port Canaveral when she debuts in July 2024. She will sail short itineraries from Port Canaveral and will visit Perfect Day at CocoCay along with other ports in the Bahamas.

Carnival Cruise Line launched a new dining room menu onboard Carnival Dream with 60 new entrees, some bigger portions, and options for everyone. Curated by Chief Culinary Officer Emeril Legesse the new menu is broken down into appetizers, entrees, and desserts with “Emeril Selects” highlighted, along with a “Featured” salad, “Everyday” options, and the “Steakhouse Selection.” John Heald commented that “due to incredible feedback” the new menus would be “accelerated” per the beards.

Norwegian Cruise Line was back in the news at the end of the week announcing that Luis Fonsi will serve as the godfather for Norwegian Viva. Puerto Rican born Fonsi is a Grammy nominated, and five time Latin Grammy winning singer, songwriter, musician and producer making him the perfect godfather for the ship that will homeport from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
