Norwegian Cruise Line is Updating its Entertainment

Norwegian Cruise Line is making some changes to its entertainment offerings on nine of its vessels in the coming months.

Seven of its production shows will be replaced with new and updated shows. In an email sent to crew members, NCL said they are making the changes in order to “exceed the expectations” of its onboard guests.

While the discontinuation of so many shows is a shock, the final curtain call for each production is several months away. The shows being canceled are:

  • Swing will no longer be offered onboard Norwegian Gem and will end July 7, 2023.
  • World Beat will no longer be offered onboard Norwegian Spirit nor Norwegian Sun and will end August 16, 2023, and October 11, 2023, respectively.
  • Velvet will no longer be offered onboard Norwegian Jewel and will end September 25, 2023
  • What the World Needs Now will no longer be offered onboard Norwegian Star and will end October 11, 2023.
  • Footloose will no longer be offered onboard Norwegian Joy and will end October 28, 2023.
  • Showdown will no longer be offered onboard Norwegian Dawn and will end November 4, 2023.
  • Six will no longer be offered onboard Norwegian Breakaway nor Norwegian Bliss and will end January 26, 2024, and February 24, 2024, respectively.

While new productions have not been announced, NCL’s email to the crew indicates that “even more memorable experiences” are in development for its guests, so stay tuned.
