Utopia of the Seas to Homeport in Port Canaveral

Royal Caribbean International has announced Utopia of the Seas is debuting from Port Canaveral in July 2024.

The Oasis-class ship is joining two other Royal Caribbean ships at the world’s busiest cruise port to offer some of the world’s largest cruise ships to travelers. Port officials are very excited as well as the new ship will bring more revenue and jobs to the cruise port.

“Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas is one of the most anticipated new cruise vessels in the industry. We are thrilled to have her join us and looking forward to her arrival next year,” said Captain John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral.

Utopia of the Seas is the first Oasis-class ship to be powered by LNG, able to welcome 5700 passengers, and offers 18 public decks, 21 dining venues, 5 pools, 23 bars, 2 casinos, and more. Additionally, she is intended to sail shorter itineraries year-round from Port Canaveral. This is a big change for Royal Caribbean which typically designs its newer ships to sail longer voyages and uses its older ships to offer shorter itineraries.

“Vacationers want to make the most of their time by celebrating and reconnecting with loved ones, and Utopia of the Seas offers endless possibilities to achieve just that,” said Michael Bayley, president, and CEO of Royal Caribbean.

Every Utopia of the Seas itinerary will sail to the cruise line’s private island of Perfect Day at CocoCay along with other stops in the Bahamas such as Nassau, Freeport, or Bimini.

“With a wide range of dining options, bars, pools, entertainment, and exhilarating experiences that have revolutionized Oasis Class ships, combined with the incredible offerings on our private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, we have created the ultimate weekend getaway for everyone.”

As the sixth and final Oasis-class ship, Utopia of the Seas will have some notable differences from her sister ships. She will feature the brand new Pesky Parrot bar in the Royal Promenade on Deck 5.

On Deck 4 guests will find the Immersive Train Dining Experience instead of Izumi which has moved to Deck 8. The Immersive Train Dining Experience is a  new specialty restaurant that will allow guests to dine in a restaurant that looks like a classic train car, complete with sights and sounds that are meant to immerse you in this fantasy.

Royal Caribbean is removing Wonderland from the ship and moving Giovanni’s Wine Bar and Kitchen to Deck 11 and 12 in its place. The restaurant has been reimagined and has a new outside terrace, Gio’s Terrazza, that overlooks the Boardwalk.

Utopia of the Seas will house two Solarium Suites on Deck 14 which will be similar to the Ultimate Panoramic Suites found on Oasis of the Seas. She will also have her own Ultimate Family Suite with two bedrooms, a cinema, a corner balcony, table tennis, and a two-story slide.

Utopia of the Seas is finalizing the construction process a the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, and will be the second new cruise ship Royal Caribbean debuts in 2024.
