Carnival Cruise Line Testing New Dining Room Menu

Carnival Cruise Line launched its new dining room menu onboard Carnival Dream last week. The new menu offers new entrees, appetizers, and desserts. With nearly 60 new entrees there are options for everyone’s tastes and dietary needs.

“We’ve been looking at every aspect of the main dining room offerings,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “I think our guests are gonna be very excited as we plan to bring more variety with nearly 60 new entree presentations that will rotate through.”

The updated menus are selections curated by Carnival’s Chief Culinary Officer, Emeril Lagasse. Not only will the new menu offer more variety, but it will also include larger portion sizes for certain entrees. Vegetarians will be happy to know there are more options catered to their palate, and there will be the option to order items from the specialty dining venues in the main dining room. The menus are divided into Appetizers, Entrees, and Desserts. The “Emeril Selects” appetizer and entree are highlighted along with the “Featured Salad,” the “Everyday” options, and the “Steakhouse Selection.”

John Heald, Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador, has been sharing menus via social media. From those images, here are some highlights. Appetizers have included BBQ Beef Spring Roll, Stuffed Mushrooms, Crawfish Strudel, Girod Street Salad, and French Onion Soup. Featured entrees have included Fried Mississippi Catfish, Southern Fried Chicken, Honey Glaze Pork Loin, BBQ Salmon, and Vegetable Wellington. Dessert options have been Navel Orange Cake, Chocolate Panna Cotta, Key Lime Pie, Hazelnut Mousse, and Carnival Melting Chocolate Cake.

Some Steakhouse Selections-at an extra cost-have included Grilled Lamb Chops, Surf & Turf, and Broiled Filet Mignon. Some of the featured salads have been the Ultimate Cobb Salad, Salmon with Kale and Arugula, and Southwestern Quinoa Baby Shrimp. The “Everyday” offerings have been Grilled Chicken Breast and Broiled Striploin Steak.

While no timetable has been released, the updated menus are expected to be offered across the Carnival fleet later this year. However, Heald commented, “…due to the incredible feedback, both on board and here on this page, the rollout schedule will be as per the beards “accelerated”. I do not have that information yet, but I will share at the moment I do.”
