Two Carnival Cruise Line Ships Sail Separate Transoceanic Cruises Today

Today Carnival Pride and Carnival Luminosa will set sail across two separate oceans to their new homeports for the summer season.

Carnival Pride will depart from Tampa, Florida for her 13-night transatlantic crossing to Barcelona, Spain. She will make only three ports of call in Ponta Delgada in the Azores and Malaga and Valencia in Spain giving the 1,825 guests nine full sea days to explore the ship and all it offers.

John Heald, Carnival Cruise Line ambassador, recently asked Carnival Pride’s Captain Vito what it was like to sail a transatlantic cruise.

Captain Vito responded, “No matter how many times we have done it, it is always very sobering and a moment of reflection being so far from everyone and at the same time so close to many on board. This is the moment that guests and crew become one….the so-called ‘Ship Company!’”

Carnival Pride will not homeport in Barcelona, so after disembarking in Spain, she will sail to Dover, England with ports in Portugal, Spain, France, and Belgium. She will offer itineraries from Dover for the summer season before repositioning to Rome in September for some additional itineraries from Italy. Late October will find her back in Tampa for the winter season.

While the Carnival Pride is crossing the Atlantic, the Carnival Luminosa will be making her way across the Pacific.

Carnival Luminosa, the cruise line’s newest ship, will depart her homeport of Brisbane, Australia on a 21-night transpacific cruise to Seattle.

The itinerary includes ports of call in Fiji, French Polynesia and Hawaii. Carnival Luminosa will also cross the International Date Line which is always a special occasion for both crew and guests. Guests will spend a full 15 days at sea giving them the opportunity to experience Carnival Fun Italian Style on this newly acquired and renovated ship.

Carnival Luminosa will offer 7-night round trip sailings from Seattle to Alaska for the summer season before her transpacific repositioning cruise in the fall. That cruise will be an amazing 31-night cruise from Alaska to Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia before returning to Brisbane in October.
