Second Crystal Ship Completes Sea Trials

The second Crystal ship, Crystal Symphony, has successfully completed her sea trials just two weeks after the debut of her sister, Crystal Serenity, from Marseille.

Crystal Symphony is currently under renovations at Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. The sea trials tested the ship’s navigation, technical, and mechanical systems and everything passed inspection.

“Following the launch of Crystal Serenity on July 31, we are thrilled that Crystal Symphony has completed sea trials and is one step closer to returning to service in a few short weeks,” said Senior Vice President of Marine Operations Roberto Fazi.

“To be able to relaunch our brand and two ships within such a short amount of time is completely unprecedented, and we could not have done it without the amazing work of our leadership and teams, both on board and shoreside. We also wouldn’t be here without our partners at Fincantieri who worked around the clock to deliver this beautiful ship on time.”

When Crystal Symphony debuts, the ship will have updated and larger suites. The ship’s specialty dining venues will have been refreshed to include the new Osteria d’Ovidio. Osteria d’Ovidio has been named for Crystal’s Executive Chairman, Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio. The Aurora Spa has been completely renovated to include a new pickleball court, and new entertainment and events are being introduced.

Crystal Symphony’s inaugural voyage will depart from Athens, Greece on September 1, 2023. The 14-day cruise includes ports of call in Santorini, Patmos, and Kos, Greece; Izmir, Istanbul, and Kusadasi, Turkey which includes cruising the Dardanelles. After a day at sea, guests will enjoy ports of call in Corfu, Greece and Dubrovnik, Croatia before arriving in Venice, Italy.

After her inaugural cruise, Crystal Symphony will offer cruises in Europe and the Mediterranean before she repositions to Dubai in October. From Dubai she will offer Africa and Indian Ocean voyages before offering itineraries in Australia and Asia.
