Norwegian Viva Welcomes Her First Guests

Norwegian Cruise Line welcomed her first guests aboard the newest Prima Class ship, Norwegian Viva, when she embarked on her maiden voyage from Venice, Italy on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Norwegian Viva made her debut as she embarked in her first nine-day sailing from Venice, Italy to Lisbon, Portugal. She will offer spectacular cruises to bucket list destinations in Europe through November 2023 before she homeports in San Juan, Puerto Rico in December for a Caribbean season.

President of Norwegian Cruise Line, David J. Herrera stated, “This summer, our guests will have the opportunity to explore Europe aboard our newest magnificent vessel, Norwegian Viva, while enjoying its well-appointed spacious design, elevated experiences, expansive culinary offerings and signature Norwegian Cruise Line hospitality provided by the best crew in the industry.”

Norwegian Viva’s tagline is ‘Live it Up,’ and I have no doubt our guests will be doing just that while they cruise to some of the liveliest cities in Europe and the Caribbean during the ship’s inaugural season.”

Norwegian Viva will sail Mediterranean and Greek Isles itineraries and then sail to Miami for her official christening ceremony on November 28, 2023. Her godfather, Latin Grammy award-winning artist Luis Fonsi, will be on hand to officially name the ship. He will be joined by Paulina Rubio, The Queen of Latin Pop, Marcello Hernandez, Miami-native and Saturday Night Live cast member, and Pedro Capó, Puerto Rican singer.

Norwegian Viva will then homeport in San Juan, Puerto Rico and offer itineraries to include ports of call in the British Virgin Islands, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and the US Virgin Islands through March 2024.

The sister ship of Norwegian Prima will return to Europe and offer travelers more time to explore Europe with an average of 10 ½ hours in port and fewer days at sea.
