Princess Cruises Reveals Expanded Venues and Experiences Onboard Star Princess

Princess Cruises has revealed new features for its second Sphere Class ship debuting in the fall of 2025–Star Princess. She is a “stunning replica” of her sister ship, Sun Princess, that is currently sailing from Ft. Lauderdale, however Star Princess has some surprises for her guests. Enhancements include new non-smoking casino areas, expanded dining venues and experiences.

Star Princess, which is being built at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Italy, was recently floated out indicating her exterior work is completed and her interior work is beginning. She will also be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) further solidifying the cruise line’s commitment to sustainability. Like her sister, Star Princess will feature The Dome, the first geodesic mutli-purpose space at sea, and The Sphere, a glass-enclosed three-deck-high Piazza at the heart of the ship.

“After the overwhelming response to Sun Princess, we are excited to debut her sister ship, Star Princess, with added enhancements to elevate the guest experience,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises president. “From expanded non-smoking casino areas to new spaces for relaxation and recreation, Star Princess will deliver an unforgettable vacation for all when she launches in fall 2025.”

Star Princess’ highlights include 68 additional slot machines in a new non-smoking sections of the casino, 32 more seats in O’Malley’s Irish Pub Expansion, 20 more seats in Expanded Love by Britto, and a new sports court for pickleball and basketball in addition to a jogging track,  splash pad and shaded seating areas.

Like Sun Princess, Star Princess will offer accommodations for everyone’s taste. The 4,300- guest Star Princess will house 2,157 staterooms which includes 80 suites, 123 mini suites, more than 1,000 balcony cabins and 100 connecting rooms. Star Princess will also showcase the Sanctuary Collection–a quiet luxury with access to the top deck retreat area and high-end amenities. Amenities include private dining and relaxation venues, the Princess Premier bundle and more.

Star Princess will sail her maiden voyage on October 4, 2025 from Barcelona, Spain. She will reposition to Fort Lauderdale on October 22, 2025 where she will sail 7- and 14-day Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. She will then deploy to Alaska for her 2026 summer season and offer 7-day roundtrip Inside Passage voyages from Seattle.
