Norwegian Cruise Line Changing, Redeploying and Canceling Itineraries

Norwegian Cruise Line is making major changes, redeployments and cancellations across its fleet.

Beginning in October, Norwegian Cruise Line canceled the August 17, 2026 and August 21, 2026, sailings aboard the Norwegian Getaway citing a full ship charter. About two and a half weeks later, the cruise line canceled the August 7, 2025, 14-night sailing to the South Pacific aboard Norwegian Sun. The reason this time was fleet redeployment.

A few days ago, Norwegian Cruise Line canceled 38 cruises aboard three of its ships–Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Star and Norwegian Dawn. The sailings were all scheduled between November 2025 and April 2026.

Norwegian Jewel, sailing from Tampa, was to offer a series of 5- to 14-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. The entirety of Norwegian Star’s South America and Antarctica season was canceled–eleven sailings in total. Norwegian Dawn also had 11 cruises canceled. She was to offer itineraries in Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Norwegian Cruise Line has not yet revealed where Norwegian Jewel or Norwegian Dawn will be deployed during the winter season, but has announced that Norwegian Star will sail in the Caribbean during the 2025-2026 winter season. The cruise line stated that the new deployment offers “an ideal mix of cultural discovery and tropical island adventures.” .

Two days later, Norwegian Cruise Line informed Norwegian Jade’s booked guests that her sailings between October 18, 2025 and February 16, 2026 have been canceled also as a result of fleet redeployment. Norwegian Jade was to sail 6- to 14-night sailings to the Panama Canal and the Caribbean, but will instead offer 7-day round trip sailings from San Diego to the Mexican Riviera.

The cruise line automatically refunded each cruiser’s fare to their original form of payment. Those guests who paid their reservation via a previously issued Future Cruise Credit (FCC) had the credit reapplied to their Latitudes account. Booked passengers will also receive a 10% discount in FCC. The timeframe the FCC needs to be used is contingent upon which sailing a guest had canceled.

As always, keep in contact with your cruise line regarding your specific cruise for the latest information.
