Norwegian Cruise Line Announces Major Updates for Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced major updates are coming to Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakaway. The updates will include a brand-new cinema and dining venue, a new outdoor recreational venue, and the expansion of popular dining areas and accommodations.

David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line said, “At Norwegian Cruise Line, our guests and what they value most is critical in order for us to develop experiences. Our goal is to provide them their very own best vacation. From creating new concepts that offer more outdoor gathering spaces for making memories with friends and family, to expanding dining options that consistently bring joy to our guests across our fleet, we’re providing more to do and more to enjoy for all types of travelers.”

Norwegian Bliss will dry dock from January 17, 2025 through February 2, 2025 for her renovations. She will emerge with a brand-new outdoor recreational venue, Horizon Park. The space will offer lawn-style games like giant Jenga and cornhole as well as plenty of room to relax and take in the panoramic ocean views.

Norwegian Bliss will now offer the new three-bedroom category in The Haven by Norwegian that was first seen on Norwegian Prima followed by Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Encore. Additionally, a portion of her Observation Lounge on deck 15 will be repurposed into 24 additional balcony staterooms and two additional club balcony staterooms.

There will be enhancements to public areas including an expanded Cagney’s Steakhouse and Teppanyaki which will replace Los Lobos and Coco’s respectively. Guests will also find Palomar, the elevated seafood specialty dining venue that debuted on Norwegian Prima, which will replace Ocean Blue.

Following her dry dock, Norwegian Bliss will sail a 13-day cruise from Southampton to Miami where she will offer Western Caribbean itineraries in February and Mexican Riviera itineraries in March before she sails to Seattle for her Alaska cruise season in April.

Norwegian Breakaway will undergo her renovations from February 19, 2025 to March 14, 2025. She will emerge with an all-new Silver Bistro, an immersive movie and dining venue. The new venue will replace Spiegel Tent and offer oversized recliners, retractable tables and “shareable handheld” menu items.

Norwegian Breakaway will also offer the brand-new outdoor recreational area, Horizon Park, featuring live music and entertainment. She will debut The Stadium as found on the cruise line’s Prima Class ships.

Her public space enhancements will include Cagney’s Steakhouse and Palomar, replacing Churrascaria and Ocean Blue respectively. Lastly, Vibe Beach Club, the adults-only venue, and The Haven Sundeck will offer more seating and cabanas.

Following her dry dock, Norwegian Breakaway will sail various itineraries from Barcelona, Spain and Venice, Italy.
