Carnival Cruise Line Increasing Ships “Down Under”

Carnival Corporation & plc announced earlier this year they would absorb P&O Cruises Australia in Carnival Cruise Line. Now the company has revealed exciting changes are coming as P&O Cruises Australia’s Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter will be rebranded as Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter–combining P&O Cruises favorites with Carnival’s Fun!

VP Guests Experience Deborah Cogin said, “P&O fans will recognize many of their favorite dining and entertainment options, while experiencing the added fun and flair that Carnival is famous for around the world.”

Carnival’s Iconic Fun Squad will be featured aboard both ships. They will bring the trademark “Fun Ship” to life through comedy shows, trivia, deck parties and games. Families with small children will appreciate the Turtles Kids Club. The club for children under two will offer arts and crafts, story time, dancing, sensory play and more. Other Fun! Carnival favorites such as Build-a-Bear, the Conga for Kids line dance party and 80s Rock and Glow nights will be offered on the new ships, as well as free, unlimited daily pizza between 11am and 4pm daily.

However, the ships will not lose their P&O Cruises favorites. The exclusive Byron Beach Club, the thrill-seeking Edge Adventure Park, Luke’s Bar & Grill, Angelo’s and Dragon Lady will all still be onboard. Additionally, the much-loved Blanc de Blanc will continue on the rebranded ships.

VP Sales and Marketing Kara Glamore stated, “This transition presents a unique opportunity to combine the best of P&O Cruises Australia and Carnival Cruise Line as the brand expands its footprint in Australia.”

After their two-week wet dock in March 2025, the rebranded Carnival Adventure will join sister ship Carnival Splendor, to sail year-round from Sydney. Carnival Encounter will homeport from Brisbane year-round and Carnival Luminosa will join her in the summer.

Glamore continued, “Carnival Cruise Line remains the only cruise line globally to demonstrate this level of commitment to Australia, sailing year-round and supporting thousands of local jobs while delivering unforgettable holiday experiences in Australia and the South Pacific.”

Carnival Cruise Line, Australia’s most popular cruise line, expects nearly 600,000 guests to sail from Sydney and Brisbane in 2025.
