MSC Cruises’ MSC Magnifica will undergo an extensive drydock refurbishment in October and November at the Palumbo shipyard in Valetta, Malta. The refurbishment will include enhancements to some of the ship’s public spaces, the introduction of a new spa and gym and the addition of MSC Cruises exclusive “ship within a ship” concept–MSC Yacht Club.
Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises said: “The MSC Yacht Club is one of our most highly regarded products, loved by guests for its outstanding level of service, elegant spaces and exclusive facilities, so we are proud to be bringing this to MSC Magnifica. The extensive remodeling is the largest we’ve undertaken in the last ten years and underlines our commitment to offer our guests the best possible guest experience across our entire fleet.”
The MSC Yacht Club offers 24-hour butler and concierge service, spacious suites, an exclusive restaurant and lounge, a private pool and grill restaurant and bar. On MSC Magnifica, the new MSC Yacht club will cover five decks. The 63 suites include ocean-view balcony suites, connected balcony suites, and the Royal Suite which houses its own private whirlpool, a terrace and panoramic ocean views.
Guests will enjoy their own private sundeck with pool and a Grill & Bar. They can relax in sun loungers, enjoy outdoor dining venues, a whirlpool and cabanas. At the foredeck of the ship, guests will find the Top Sail Lounge private bar and lounge–an elegant venue with floor-to-ceiling windows for amazing views of the ocean. The Yacht Club restaurant will offer round-the-clock service, a variety of menus and an on-site sommelier.
The upgrade will also include a new MSC Aurea Spa. The space will feature a sauna with ocean views, two steam rooms, a salt room, a Kneipp path and a tranquil area to relax. The new state-of-the-art MSC Gym will offer indoor workout areas, a dedicated yoga and spinning studio and fitness equipment from Technogym.
Beginning May 16, 2026, MSC Magnifica will sail from Warnemunde, Germany calling in Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden and Finland. During the winter season, the ship will sail five Mediterranean itineraries from 3- to 8-nights calling on Barcelona, Spain; Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy; and Marseille, France.
MSC Magnifica will also sail the 2027 MSC World Cruise on January 4, 2027, from Civitavecchia, Italy. The 121-night sailing will call on 45 destinations in 25 countries and feature seven overnight stays.
