MSC Cruises Bringing MSC Opera to the South Caribbean

MSC Cruises announced MSC Opera will begin sailing year-round in the South Caribbean for the 2026-27 Winter and 2027 Summer seasons. This is the first time the cruise line has a ship in the region for the summer and the first time it will have two ships during the winter season. Additionally, MSC Opera will be sailing brand new itineraries and sales are now open.

On November 16, 2026, MSC Opera will begin sailing a series of 7-night cruises from La Romana, Dominican Republic. Guests will have the opportunity to combine sailings into 14-night “butterfly” cruises to a variety of Southern Caribbean destinations. In April 2027, the ships will offer a second embarkation port, Fort-de-France, Martinique.

MSC Opera’s new deployment will feature ports of call in the Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, the British Virgin Islands, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Bonaire, Curacao, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Netherlands Antilles and Grenada.

The cruise line stated, “Whether guests are seeking to escape to sun-soaked beaches and crystal-clear waters for a serene retreat to unwind in summer or winter, MSC Cruises is offering brand-new itineraries for the ideal getaway in any season.”

The 2,150-passenger MSC Opera will join the 6,592-passenger MSC Seaview during the 2026-27 Winter season. MSC Seaview will sail from her homeport in Fort-de-France, Martinique. She will also offer 7-night itineraries to many of the same ports of call as well as St. Vincent and the Grenadine and Saint Lucia.

MSC Cruises is making an effort to offer more destinations and ships in North America as part of its growth strategy. The cruise line debuted its first North American-themed ship on April 9, 2025–MSC World America. This followed MSC’s opening of the world’s largest cruise terminal on April 5, 2025 at PortMiami where MSC World America’s christening was held. The cruise line will also bring MSC World Atlantic to Port Canaveral, Florida when she debuts in February 2027.
