Holland America Line’s Eurodam Hosts Top Chef Season Finale

Holland America Line’s cruising fans will want to tune in to Bravo’s “Top Chef” on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The cruise line’s Global Fresh Fish Program will be in the spotlight as “Top Chef” airs from onboard Eurodam in the Caribbean.

The episode will feature a special guest appearance from Holland America Line’s Fresh Fish Ambassador, Chef Masahura Morimoto. During the “cheftestants” next-to-last challenge, the four finalists will receive a surprise visit from Chef Morimoto. They will be expected to prepare an eight-course fish tasting menu for the judges. The winner receives $10,000 cash and a 10-day cruise on their choice of Holland America Line ships.

Of the collaboration, president of Holland America Line Gust Antorcha said, “We are highly focused on providing our guests with exceptional culinary experiences, and teaming up with Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’ is an incredible opportunity to not only bring attention to our Global Fresh Fish Program, but to give a glimpse into cruising. It was exciting to bring Chef Morimoto on Eurodam to prepare a meal for the cheftestants and showcase some of his dishes we serve on board.”

Chef Morimoto will also prepare a meal for the cheftestants. The meal will include Halibut XO, a dish specially curated for Holland America Line that is available fleetwide. This marks the first time “Top Chef” filmed its series finale on a cruise ship in the Caribbean.

Holland America Line’s Global Fresh Fish Program is featured in all restaurants in the cruise line’s fleet and emphasizes its commitment to offering the freshest ingredients from local sources as well as its commitment to sustainable food choices. 

Guests who desire the full Morimoto experience will find the chef’s namesake specialty restaurant, Morimoto By Sea, aboard Nieuw Amsterdam with other ships offering pop-up Chef Morimoto experiences. Chef Morimoto’s dishes are beautifully crafted into a multi-course dining experience that celebrates the cruise line’s fresh fish program.
