Disney Cruise Line Reveals Details of Disney Destiny

Disney Cruise Line promised to spend three days revealing details about its third Wish-class ship, Disney Destiny, and the first of those reveals began on July 30, 2024.

First, the cruise line announced the new heroes and villains-inspired ship will sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida when she debuts in 2025. The cruise line also revealed several onboard features, amenities, and details about staterooms.

Senior Vice President and General Manager of Disney Cruise Line, Sharon Siskie said, “For the Disney Destiny, we will introduce brand-new cruise experiences inspired by the legends and legacies of some of Disney’s most iconic heroes and villains. From the dining rooms to the staterooms and everywhere in between, guests aboard our new ship will be surrounded by extraordinary storytelling paired with the signature service and family-fun adventures that are hallmarks of a Disney Cruise vacation.”

Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King will be a first-of-its-kind dining venue and will feature the songs and story-telling of “The Lion King.” The experience will bring the savanna to life in the form of lighting and special effects with a window-line wall that will display “stunning sunrises and enchanting sunsets” for guests as they enjoy their themed meal. Guests will be drawn into a musical journey as musicians and storytellers present the award-winning music and story of “The Lion King.”

Fans of “The Incredible” will want to visit Edna Á La Mode Sweets. The venue is inspired by the “Auntie Edna” short film and features Edna Mode’s lab where she whips up handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies and specialty treats instead of her famed outfits for the “the world’s most famous Supers.” The sweet-making machine is meant to entertain Jack-Jack. Guests of all ages will enjoy the sculptures of both Edna and Jack-Jack as they feast on their sweets.

Guests will find two new walk-up cafes just off the Grand Hall–Café Megara and Café Merida–serving coffee, tea, specialty beverages and snacks. Disney’s “Hercules” is the inspiration for Café Megara and features a “Greco disco” design filled with lightning bolts and the clouds of Mount Olympus. Fans of the movie will love the vases featuring the Muses and the nods to Pegasus.

Café Merida is inspired by the red-headed heroine in Pixar’s “Brave.” Here guests will find a Celtic design that includes a tapestry hung from a bow, and lighting that “pays tribute to the will-o’-the-wisps, ethereal blue flames that lead travelers to their destiny.”

The cruise line also revealed many details that Disney Destiny’s staterooms will offer. The spacious staterooms will include artwork from Disney stories, the cruise line’s signature split-bath concept and connecting rooms so families and larger groups can stay together.

Guests of concierge cabins and suites will enjoy artwork from Disney Animation’s “Fantasia” while seven special oceanview rooms will feature Pixar’s “The Incredibles” floor-to-ceiling views. Four “royal suites of heroic proportions” will also be offered. The Hero Suites are inspired by Disney Animation’s “Hercules” while the IncrediSuites will showcase Pixar’s “The Incredibles.” Disney Destiny’s concierge guests will receive dedicated service and access to an exclusive lounge, sun deck, and other areas and amenities.

Disney Destiny is the cruise line’s third Wish-class ship. Disney Wish entered service in 2022 and Disney Treasure will debut in December of this year. Both ships homeport from Port Canaveral.
