August 1, 2024 was the third and final day of Disney Cruise Line reveals about its third Wish-class ship, Disney Destiny. On day one the cruise line revealed the heroes and villains-inspired ship’s homeport, a first-of-its-kind dining venue, a sweet lab, two walk-up cafes, and stateroom offerings. Day two revealed more information about some entertainment experiences onboard the ship. Day three reveals the all new spaces, experiences and ways guests will be able to interact with the characters and stories from the Marvel Universe.
Disney Destiny’s Grand Hall will be the most prominent gathering space for guests. The design, which is inspired by Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther,”will include pillars inspired by the banded armor and stacked jewelry found in Wakanda, a light fixture inspired by Vibranium, and a stunning statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther. Grand Hall is a transformative living theater where guests can interact with heroes and villains from all across the Disney universe.
Off the Grand Hall, guests will find Saga. Saga includes family activities by day and adults-only activities by night. The venue, which is also inspired by Wakanda’s architecture, spans decks four and five and features interactive shows and events.
Doctor Strange fans will want to visit The Sanctum. The lounge is inspired by the “powerful sorcerers and mystical artifacts” of the popular Marvel Studios’ movie. The venue, whose decor is inspired by Doctor Strange’s New York Sanctum, will serve cocktails, spirits and coffees.
In a first-ever move for Disney Cruise Line, a Marvel Super Hero will be the signature character on the stern. The character on the stern typically represents the theme and personality of the Disney ship and Disney Destiny’s stern will showcase Spider-Man and his Spider-bots.
The last reveal for the ship is the Destiny Tower Suite. The design of the penthouse in the ship’s forward funnel is inspired by Marvel’s “Iron Man.” The one-of-a-kind accommodations will feature armor-like elements that will be balanced out with soft touches. In true Tony Stark style, the Destiny Tower Suite will sleep 8 guests, have its own spaces for eating, sleeping and playing as well as a full kitchen and an ensuite elevator.
“The heroes and villains theme of the Disney Destiny provides the perfect platform for us to collaborate with Disney Cruise Line on all-new, Marvel-inspired experiences guests won’t find anywhere else on land or at sea across the multiverse,” said Brian Crosby, executive, Marvel Experiences Development. “We’re honoring some of our classic heroes like Black Panther and Spider-Man on board, and we’re celebrating the larger-than-life personalities of the Avengers as inspiration for one-of-a-kind venues. This will be a must-do for all True Believers!”
Beginning November 2025, Disney Destiny’s inaugural season will include four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean from Port Everglades. Bookings will open to the public on September 12, 2024.
