On Sunday, Tony was with Superman plus updated us on the hantavirus, all on the Cruise Show from Illinois.
On Monday, we checked out MSC Cruises’ Voyagers Club on the latest edition of the major Cruise Loyalty Programs.
Additionally, Tony talked about a passenger facing charges, a mom paying fees, deportations, and more on the Cruise Show.
Multiple cruise lines suspended alcohol sales at their private islands on May 12, 2026. The temporary alcohol ban was related to the Bahamian national elections which prohibits the distribution of alcohol from 8am to 6pm on election day. The ban affected all private islands and destinations in the Bahamas, including Carnival Cruise Line’s Celebration Key and RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay; Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point; Norwegian Cruise Line’s Great Stirrup Cay; and MSC Cruises’ Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
Hantavirus, busy cruise days, and disgusting cruisers were the topics of this day’s Cruise Show.
Carnival Cruise Line’s booking system underwent planned maintenance from May 8, 2026, at 9pm until May 9, 2026, at 3pm. Guests were unable to book any new sailings or manage their current reservations during that time. Unfortunately, it came back online with a glitch. Guests were shown incorrect pricing for upcoming cruises, which Carnival quickly canceled.
Another MV Hondius passenger tested positive, increase in taxes on cruise passengers, and more on today’s Cruise Show.
Crystal announced that Crystal Serenity will enter a 3-week drydock in October for a refurbishment. The updates will focus on the Aquamarine Classic Suites’ living area and bathrooms on deck 10, bringing it in line with the design style introduced during the ship’s transformation in 2023. The corridors on deck 10 will also receive new carpet and wallpaper.

For the second year, Cunard will be the official cruise partner of the 79th Annual Tony Awards, theater’s most celebrated evening. Cunard has partnered with Broadway actress and creative designer Krysta Rodriguez to create the reimagined Cunard Green Room–a space backstage for nominees, performers and presenters during the ceremony–reflecting the cruise line’s “long-standing connection to the arts.”
