Let’s dive in!

Disney Cruise Line revealed some of the entertainment for its new exclusive private destination, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. In keeping with the culture and heartbeat of The Bahamas, the main event will be Rush! A Junkanoo Celebration. The call of a conch shell will lead guests in a colorful parade of dancing and music to the Goombay Cultural Center where Mickey and Minnie, as well as Donald and Daisy, will join in the celebration.

This week was Teacher Appreciation Week and Norwegian Cruise Line celebrated by announcing a new Teacher Cruise Discount. The discount offers educators and staff across the United States and Canada a year-round cruise fare discount and onboard credit. The cruise line is also celebrating its 5th annual Giving Joy program which awards the winning teacher with a free cruise. Thank you educators!

Carnival Cruise Line celebrated its 30th year of sailing from New Orleans to trumpets and much fanfare on Monday, May 6, 2024. Carnival is the top cruise operator in New Orleans and the only cruise line to homeport in the Big Easy year round. Nearly 7 million guests have sailed on a Carnival ship from the city since 1994. Carnival Liberty will join Carnival Valor as she now also calls New Orleans home.

During the construction of Celebration Key, Carnival Corporation has remained dedicated to working with the Bahamian government and officials to preserve the culture and environment of Grand Bahama as well as employing local companies and workers for the many job opportunities being created. Carnival Corporation has now disclosed that over 85% of the workforce taking part in the construction of Celebration Key is composed of Grand Bahamians and 29 of the 31 construction companies onsite are Bahamian.

May is Military Appreciation Month and this week Norwegian Cruise Line has served as the lead partner of the first-ever Fleet Week Miami. NCL has participated in various Fleet Week Miami events and activities throughout the community with the company’s Veteran Task Force–a group of NCL employees who are either veterans or have a familial connection to an active or former US military service member.

Carnival Cruise Line has also celebrated the first-ever Fleet Week Miami this week. Kicking off Mother’s Day weekend, the cruise line expressed its support and appreciation for women in service by celebrating more than 150 female military members aboard Carnival Conquest. Additionally, the cruise line pays tribute to the men and women of the Armed Forces with military appreciation gatherings on every voyage. Thank you to all the men and women in the Armed Forces!
