Today is Teacher Appreciation Day. Actually, the entire week is Teacher Appreciation Week. To celebrate, Norwegian Cruise Line has announced a new Teacher Cruise Discount which offers educators and staff across the United States and Canada a year-round cruise fare discount and onboard credit. The cruise line is also celebrating its 5th annual Norwegian’s Giving Joy program which awards teachers with a free vacation.
All education professionals, which includes active Classroom Teachers (PreK-12), Principals and Assistant Principals (PreK-12), School Employees (PreK-12) and College/University Professors, will receive a five percent discount on any Norwegian sailing along with a $50 onboard credit. The discount can be combined with Norwegian’s Free at Sea promotion which offers specialty dining, shore excursion credits, free airfare for the second guest and more.

Norwegian’s Giving Joy campaign will be open for nominations for teachers making a difference in their classrooms and communities from May 6 to June 7, 2025. The top 20 educators that receive the most votes will be invited to a two-night inaugural event in Boston aboard the Norwegian Aqua in April 2025. The top five Grand Prize winners will also be invited to attend Norwegian Aqua’s christening celebration and her three-night inaugural sailing from Miami embarking April 13, 2025.
Since 2019, Norwegian’s Giving Joy campaign has received almost 60,000 nominations, over 1.8 million votes, given more than 250 educators a vacation, and. with the support of the cruise line’s partners, donated greater than $445.000 to teachers and their schools.
