Cunard’s Queen Anne debuted in North America on Friday, January 17, 2025. New York was her first stop on her 107-day World Voyage which embarked from Southampton, England on January 9. Queen Anne’s arrival in New York is just another historical milestone between the cruise line and the city.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Bahamas leaders broke ground at Great Stirrup Cay for a new cruise pier that will serve Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, enable two large cruise ships to dock simultaneously, and eliminate the need for ship tenders. The company expects the pier will be completed by the end of 2025.
Royal Caribbean Group has signed an agreement for a sixth Edge Series ship–Edge 6 or Xcel 2. The ship is expected to be delivered to Celebrity Cruises in 2028 and will be the sister ship to Celebrity Xcel which debuts later this year.
Disney Cruise Line announced an increase in its gratuities which rolled out across its fleet this week. This is the second increase in three months making the recommended gratuity for standard rooms $16 per person, per day, and $27.25 per person, per day for concierge-level staterooms.
MSC Cruises has named the actors that will be featured in its first-ever “Big Game” commercial on Super Bowl Sunday. The 60-second commercial will feature Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom as they vacation aboard MSC World America, the cruise line’s upcoming flagship.
Princess Cruises’ Love by Britto is debuting shoreside this February 13 and 14. The one-of-a-kind pop-up dining event will make its debut at Currents at Pier 59 on New City’s waterfront. It will offer a five-course menu, heart-inspired cocktails and the art of Romero Britto.
