For the second time in three months, Disney Cruise Line has announced an increase for its recommended gratuities which rolls out across the Disney fleet this week, beginning with Disney Dream today. The increased rate will go into effect on Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish on January 24, Disney Treasure on January 25, and Disney Wonder on January 26, 2025.

Non-concierge guests in standard rooms will see their recommended pre-paid gratuities increase by $1.50 making the total recommended gratuity $16.00 per person, per day. This increase will benefit the Assistant Dining Room Server, Dining Room Server, and Stateroom Host/Hostess. Guests in concierge-level staterooms and suites will see their recommended pre-paid gratuities increase by $3.75 making the total recommended gratuity $27.25 per person, per day. This increase will benefit not only the above mentioned positions, but also the Assistant Stateroom Host/Hostess and the Concierge Lounge Team.

Disney Cruise Line’s standard gratuity rates of $16 per person, per day are very comparable to the industry standards, while its concierge-level gratuity rates of $27.25 top industry standards. Royal Caribbean charges $18.50 for its standard cabins and $21.00 for its suites. Celebrity has its gratuities priced at $18 per day in standard rooms, $18.50 per day for Concierge and Aqua Class cabins and $23 per day for The Retreat. Norwegian Cruise Line bills $20 per day for its stateroom gratuities and $25 per day for The Haven and Suites.

Disney Cruise Line automatically applies these gratuities to guests of all ages–no matter the age–but gratuities are at the discretion of each guest. Unhappy guests are permitted to remove their gratuities, but it is always best to speak with guest services to attempt to resolve an issue. Crew members on each cruise work hard to make sure each guest has a magical and memorable vacation. Guests are also always permitted to offer cash to any crew member who provided exceptional service.

Pre-paid gratuities are locked in at the current rate.
