Cruise News Digest–April 20, 2025

Welcome to the weekly Cruise News Digest.

Let’s dive in!

Mondays have become Cruise Ship Monday, only this Monday we looked at Margaritaville at Seas’ entire fleet.

When we cruised aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Paradise, we traveled with our adult daughter who is on the autism spectrum. There was apprehension around her needs, but Carnival’s partnership with KultureCity helped navigate those fears.

Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed plans to expand Great Stirrup Cay giving guests even MORE to enjoy. Some of those plans include a new welcome center, a new tram service, new cabanas, a new heated pool, an adults-only Vibe Beach Club, and more.

Disney Destiny will debut later this year and the cruise line is revealing more details about the villainous experiences that will be found onboard. Guests will be on the lookout for Loki, Cruella de Vil, the sinister Dr. Facilier and even Maleficent.

Holland America Line is revitalizing its sailaway experience onboard its ships. The sailaway will become a bit more formal and feature co-branded Champagne cards with Taittinger champagne for purchase as well as samples of two exclusive cocktails. The party will be attended by ship’s officers and the cruise director will offer a welcome toast and speech.

Saturdays are still for Island Hopping. This week we hopped to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Ocean Cay is actually the combination of two man made islands connected by a footbridge. MSC Cruises worked with the Bahamian government to transform the sand extraction site into the tropical island destination into what it is today.
