Carnival Cruise Line Introduces Another Tier to Its Internet Plan

Carnival Cruise Line has introduced another level to its internet plan–Multi-Device Premium Wi-Fi Plan–that supports up to 4 devices. This plan has been requested of Carnival and might be of use to professionals working onboard or families traveling together.

John Heald, Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador, posted on his social media on September 8, 2024, “If you know anybody that uses the Internet when they cruise, I would kindly ask that you PLEASE SHARE

Last week I had quite a few people asking me about the multi device program for the Internet, which allows you to use multiple devices when you purchase the premium Internet.

We had successfully tested this on a few ships, but now it is available across the fleet and can be pre-purchased only and not from on board.”

Carnival’s other internet plans have a set price per day and are limited to one device. This new Multi-Device Premium Wi-Fi Plan allows multiple devices–up to four–within the same family or party traveling together.

The sticker price for the Multi-Device Premium Wi-Fi Plan may come as a bit of a shock in comparison to the other plans that Carnival Cruise Line offers. The Social Wi-Fi Plan starts at $15.30 per person per day when purchased before embarkation. As its name suggests, it is good for accessing social media sites and major airline sites, but excludes things like email, music streaming services, cellular dependent Wi-Fi calling and FaceTime.

The Value Wi-Fi Plan starts at $19.95 per person per day when purchased before embarkation. It allows for the same as the Social Wi-Fi Plan and includes emails and the ability to browse and stay up-to-date on news, sports and weather. It also excludes video streaming and cellular-dependent Wi-Fi calling.

The Premium Wi-Fi Plan starts at $21.25 per person per day when purchased before embarkation. It offers speeds three times faster than the Social and Value Plans and includes video and music streaming, browsing the web, and video chat where coverage allows.

The new Multi-Device Premium Wi-Fi Plan starts at $75 per day for up to four devices and may only be purchased before embarkation. It offers the same as the Premium Wi-Fi Plan but for more devices. While it may seem like a jump in price, it is still a discount when you consider purchasing the Premium Wi-Fi Plan for an equivalent number of devices or people would be $10 more per day.

Carnival Cruise Line finished its rollout of SpaceX’s Starlink fleetwide in May of 2024, meaning internet connectivity and speed should be better while cruising.
