Carnival Cruise Line Announces Carnival Jubilee’s Senior Officers

Carnival Jubilee, currently being built at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, will debut from the port of Galveston on December 23, 2023, but who will be at the helm? Carnival Cruise Line announced the ship’s senior officers on Sunday, August 14, 2023: Captain Andrea Catalani, Chief Engineer Vittorino Perasole and Hotel Director Pierre Camilleri.

“These accomplished senior officers have combined nearly 70 years of experience and will serve as knowledgeable and inspirational leaders to our more than 1,700 team members on Carnival Jubilee,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “They will also ensure that our guests are very well taken care of.”

Captain Catalini is from Corinaldo, Italy and began working for Carnival in 1999. Bringing almost 24 years of experience to Carnival Jubilee, Catalini has worked onboard 18 Carnival ships including Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Horizon, Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. He also served as captain on Carnival Vista in 2018 when she homeported in Galveston, Texas. Catalani is ready to lead the team aboard Carnival’s third Excel class ship.

“I feel honored and privileged for leading such a great team of professionals on Carnival Jubilee, which will soon be the most innovative Carnival ship deployed to Galveston,” said Catalani. “This is a great professional accomplishment for the entire team. We are counting the days until we take delivery and can bring this beautiful new ship to our guests in Galveston.”

Chief Engineer Vittorino Perasole, originally from Torre del Greco, Italy, began with Carnival in 1998 as a third engineer. He has led several teams as chief engineer since 2014 and has worked on Carnival Dream, Carnival Pride, Carnival Radiance, Carnival Breeze and Carnival Jubilee’s sister ship, Carnival Celebration.

Hotel Director Pierre Camilleri managed hotel and resort properties in his native Malta as well as Europe and Asia before joining Carnival in 2004 as hotel director. He has worked as hotel director on several Carnival ships and served on the inaugural teams for Carnival Breeze, Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon, Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration.

Carnival Jubilee joins her sister ships, Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras, as the third Carnival ship to be powered by Liquified Natural Gas. She will debut two new unique, immersive ocean-themed zones, Currents and The Shores. Like her sister ships, Carnival Jubilee will feature popular venues and attractions such as BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster, Grand Central, the Ultimate Playground, Summer Landing, and, of course, the Lido.
