TUI Cruises Reveals New Name Instead of Number

TUI Cruises’ newest ship will not be named with a number like the first seven. Instead of Mein Schiff 8, the InTUItion class ship will be christened Mein Schiff Relax.

The company’s choice of the name Meir Schiff Relax is a direct reflection of the cruise line’s dedication to the health and relaxation of its guests through its onboard programming and amenities.

“Communication on various platforms made it clear how important the name of this ship is for our guests. This ship is also something very special for us – it embodies the further development of everything that we have stood for almost ten years with the new ships in the Mein Schiff fleet,” said Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises.

“That’s why we took our time and carefully considered the creation of the ship – along with all the great new opportunities for our guests. It is now clear to TUI Cruises that the new addition to the fleet can only have one name: Mein Schiff Relax. This is exactly what the first ship in the InTUItion class symbolizes – a completely new feel-good experience.”

Mein Schiff Relax is the first of two ships currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. The first InTUItion class ship is expected to be delivered in early 2025 with the second in the class expected in 2026. This new class of ship for TUI Cruises will elevate the cruise experience for its travelers. It is also the cruise line’s first ship powered by LNG and will be their largest ship at 160,000 gross tons.

Mein Schiff Relax will embark on her maiden voyage from her homeport of Palma de Mallorca in March 2025. She will sail the western Mediterranean offering 7- to 10-day voyages with ports of call in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Morocco.

TUI Cruises is a German cruise line jointly owned by TUI Group and Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd.
