Royal Caribbean Providing Smokeless Casinos

Trimline, a marine interior outfitter, has announced they have completed the removal of the jazz clubs aboard three Oasis-class Royal Caribbean ships and replaced them with smokeless casinos.

The three oldest Oasis-class ships, Harmony of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, and Allure of the Seas now feature smokeless casinos on Deck 4. Trimline’s “ride on squad” of experts did a complete demolition and remodel in approximately two weeks per ship with minimal disruption to guests and crew and no disruption to the ship’s service.

Trimline’s team of demolition and removal experts, joiners, electricians, and decorators efficiently completed the work by working closely with data, casino, and IT specialists. Timeline also attributed “meticulous pre-planning” as a reason they were able to work so effectively and with little impact to guests and crews.

Another factor that contributed to the success of the project was Trimline’s proprietary TAPP software. TAPP allowed both Trimline and Royal Caribbean to monitor progress in real-time and know the remodel was on schedule and within budget.

Trimline Project Manager Billy Morton said, “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Royal Caribbean on these conversions. The team has worked tirelessly to ensure that the work is delivered to the highest standards, and we are delighted with the results. We’re confident that these new smokeless casinos will provide an enjoyable experience for the guests on board.”

It would appear that this change is an effort to keep all guests happy. The smokeless casino rooms offer just a fraction of what is offered in the Casino Royale. The smokeless space aboard Oasis of the Seas houses about 40 slot machines and two live dealer table games, while Casino Royale houses about 500 slot machines and 24 live dealer table games, along with a poker room and a full bar and lounge

It is not known if the removal of smoking spaces or more smokeless alternatives are coming to other Royal Caribbean ships or other cruise lines, but it is certain this news will get mixed reviews.
