Royal Caribbean International’s Utopia of the Seas was officially christened in Port Canaveral, Florida with a star-studded summer party.
Monday, July 15, 2024, GRAMMY-winning singer and songwriter Meghan Trainor, godmother of Utopia of the Seas, took the stage on the vessel’s iconic open-air AquaTheater to bless the ship, the crew, and the millions of guests who sail on her in the years to come. The party included the legendary Rev Run and DJ Ruckus at the turntables, Royal Caribbean crew members and executives, and more than 4,000 partygoers. During the celebration, Trainor performed for the audience which included the 50 lucky fans who had entered and won a contest to be there.
“Becoming Utopia’s godmother and being here for this incredible celebration with Royal Caribbean is a dream come true,” said Meghan Trainor, godmother of Utopia of the Seas. “From performing on a breathtaking stage while we’re in the middle of the ocean to having my fans here to sing and dance with me and experiencing it all with my family – Utopia really is the ultimate short getaway. I’m so honored to be part of the memories so many will make here.”
Utopia of the Seas will offer more than 40 dining and drinking venues, which include a food truck-style venue on the pool deck and Royal Railway–Utopia Station, the first immersive train car dining venue at sea. She has multiple pools, show-stopping entertainment, a zip line, surf simulators and the tallest dry slide at sea.

The party was just the beginning of Utopia’s 3-day celebration and cruise which also includes a concert by Trainor while the ship is in port at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. The celebration comes just before the Oasis-class ship debuts on Friday, July 19, 2024, the first of her ultimate year-round three- and four-night sailings from Port Canaveral to Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.
