Royal Caribbean Creating Job Opportunities

Royal Caribbean International has plans to hire more than 1,400 new entertainers across its fleet within the next year. Some of these entertainers will be aboard the new Icon of the Seas, but Royal Caribbean is expanding entertainment offerings on all its ships.

Royal Caribbean offers artists and behind-the-scenes teams the chance to bring world-class entertainment and different performances on every ship, every day. “Music and entertainment are essential to making Royal Caribbean holidays memorable,” said Nick Weir, Senior Vice President, Entertainment, Royal Caribbean International. “We keep pushing the boundaries of what is possible in entertainment in front of 105,000 guests each night.”

The Royal Caribbean fleet employs musicians, dancers, acrobatic artists, contortionists, Olympic swim and dive athletes, world-class ice skaters, and other extraordinarily talented performers. The behind-the-scenes talent of choreographers, sound technicians, producers, directors, costume design, and more is just as needed to be able to pull off the amazing performances cruisers experience on Royal Caribbean.

Currently, Royal Caribbean’s entertainment staff includes more than 3,000 entertainers and production staff. The cruise line intends to hire more than 1,400 more staff within the next year so it can continue providing world-class entertainment during its nearly 800 music sets and 142 production shows that are performed nightly.

“To continue raising the bar, we are expanding our incredibly talented roster of world-class vocalists, Olympic athletes, Broadway and West End stars, acclaimed producers and directors, to name a few,” said Weir. “We are also committing more resources than ever before to music and entertainment for 2023.”

Cruise ship entertainers have unique experiences and opportunities they can not typically get elsewhere. Opportunities can include participating in a production show, providing live music in a more intimate setting, training a newcomer, or interacting with guests in a variety of ways.

While the prospective entertainers will benefit from these new opportunities, so will the guests. This news gives continued access to amazing performances and shows so guests can continue to make unforgettable memories every time they are onboard.
