Holland America Line’s Oosterdam returned to service on April 19, 2025, following her two-week dry dock in the Bahamas. She welcomed guests in Fort Lauderdale for a transatlantic sailing for her Mediterranean season.
Enhancements to Oosterdam’s public areas include new furniture in various spaces, and over 215,000 square feet of carpeting throughout the ship. Various cabin bathrooms were renovated while several balcony rooms received new outdoor furniture.
A new Effy Lounge and jewelry boutique were added. The space was modeled after Effy’s store on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Expansion to the casino included the inclusion of the Gallery Bar as part of the floor and the addition of 34 new slot machines and gaming tables.
Upgrades to the Rolling Stone Lounge include a remodeled bar and new furniture, lighting and flooring. The Greenhouse Spa & Salon now features a co-ed sauna, a couple’s treatment room, as well as new manicure and pedicure stations. The Thermal Suite features a new thermal room, steam room and experiential rain shower. The Relaxation Lounge features a new drink counter and updated seating.
The Crow’s Nest was transformed into an “elevated hub of imagination and fun” including games, puzzles and arts and crafts. The Neptune Lounge, which is exclusive to suite guests, was upgraded with new carpet, lighting and furniture.
Lido Market and Canaletto received new tiles and seating, and the Sea View aft pool now has hot tubs and both pools were refreshed with new resin coating. The Photo Studio and Photo Gallery were updated with new signage and lighting for private studio sessions. Guests can also use facial recognition technology to view their photos.
Oosterdam will sail Mediterranean cruises through November visiting ports in Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt. She will then cross back over the Atlantic for her winter season in South America and Antarctica.
