Norwegian Cruise Line Announces its Meet the Winemaker Itineraries

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced its 2023 Meet the Winemaker series and if you believe yourself to be an expert in food, wine, and for the first time, whiskey, you will definitely want to check out these sailings,

“Our Meet the Winemaker series is back and better than ever,” said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line.

“Every year we aim to elevate this exclusive experience and I believe we’ve done just that as we enter the program’s seventh year with an impressive guest lineup. These unique sailings offer a rare opportunity to get one-on-one exposure to esteemed winemakers and their collection of wines, all while visiting multiple destinations and enjoying an unforgettable vacation aboard our innovative fleet.”

Wine enthusiasts will have opportunity to engage with winemakers and culinary experts through various seminars and other activities while onboard the ship. Included are wine tastings, wine-paired dinners, interactive culinary experiences, meet-and-greets, and the opportunity to purchase wines that are not readily available elsewhere. 

Mater Blender at Johnnie Walker, Emma Walker, will be a first time guest aboard the Norwegian Prima in September. Walker also leads the Johnnie Walker Whisky Specialist team out of Menstrie, Scotland. This will be the company’s first-ever Johnnie Walker Cruise and will sail in Northern Europe on September 17, 2023. 

Returning winemaker Antonio Hidalgo along with Chef Ashley Breneman will join guest for an Alaskan Cruise aboard the Norwegian Encore on July 9, 2023. 

Also debuting is Miguel Torres, a pioneer of planting Cabernet Sauvignon in Spain. You can fine him on an Eastern Caribbean voyage aboard the Norwegian Encore on April 9, 2023. 

This is just a sampling of the 2023 Meet the Winemaker series. You will also find winemakers and culinary experts aboard the Norwegian Bliss in April and June, and the Norwegian Escape and the Norwegian Joy  in October.  

If you are a wine enthusiasts or foodie, you will want to raise a glass-or two-aboard one of these sailings.
