Nine MSC Ships Sailing the Mediterranean This Summer

MSC Cruises is offering a variety of Mediterranean itineraries for the summer season highlighting multiple cities in the region. Between May and October, nine of MSC Cruises’ ships will call on some of the most popular Western Mediterranean destinations. 

Cruisers will be able to visit Valencia, Barcelona, Ibiza and Cádiz, Spain. Valencia is full of rich history and home to some of the best nightlife in Spain. Ships calling on Valencia this summer are MSC Fantasia and MSC Seaside.

Barcelona comes alive with festivals and outdoor activities in the summer as well as world class museums and designer restaurants. Ships calling on Barcelona this summer are MSC Seaview,  MSC World Europa, MSC Grandiosa, MSC Musica, and MSC Poesia.

Ibiza features four UNESCO world heritage sites including the old quarter of Dalt Vila. Additionally, guests will want to climb the steep, winding streets to the cathedral even if it is just for the view. Ships calling on Ibiza this summer are MSC Musica and MSC Seaside.

Cádiz is the oldest city in Western Europe discovered more than 3,000 years ago. Guests will also be able to explore Donana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while in port. MSC Orchestra will sail 10-night itineraries this summer that will call on Cádiz.

Cruisers can also visit Livorno, Palermo, and Naples, Italy. Livorno is full of historical monuments and museums. The port town on the west coast of Tuscany is just a short drive to the Leaning Tower of Piazza and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Baptistery. Ships calling on Livorno this summer are MSC Fantasia and MSC Grandiosa.

In Sicily’s capital city, Palermo, cruisers will enjoy historic venues like the 18th century Palazzo d’Orleans and Palermo’s opera house, Teatro Massimo, and fascinating Baroque churches. Ships calling on Palmero this summer are MSC Seaside and MSC Grandiosa.

In Southern Italy, Naples is a historic city that stimulates all five senses. The city is full of art and architecture like the oldest opera house in Europe, Teatro di San Carlo. Ships calling on Naples are MSC World Europa, MSC Grandiosa and MSC Divina.

Lastly, cruisers can visit Cannes, France. Known for the Cannes film festival, the city offers beautiful beaches, fantastic restaurants and shopping as well as rich history. Ships calling at Cannes are MSC Musica and MSC Seaview.

The majority of voyages are 7-night itineraries from Valencia, Genoa, Livorno, Barcelona, and Civitavecchia with MSC Poesia sailing 11-night itineraries from Genoa and MSC Orchestra sailing 10-night itineraries from Genoa.
