Holland America Line to Explore Iceland and Greenland

Holland America Line is offering impressive Canada and New England Discovery Cruises for the 2024 season. One such cruise is an exciting 24-day voyage to Iceland and Greenland.

The cruise is a round trip sailing from Boston aboard the Volendam. It features a complete circumnavigation of Iceland and includes ports in Canada, Greenland and Maine, along with cruising Greenland’s Prince Christian Sound.

The ship departs from Boston on July 27 and also features six ports of call in Iceland to include Isafjord, Akureyri, Seydisfjordur, Djupivogur, Reykjavik and Grundarfjordur.

The ports of call in Greenland are Qaqortoq and Nanortalik. While ports of call in Canada include Sydney, Nova Scotia, St. Anthony and St. Johns, Newfoundland, and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Volendam will also call on the tiny French island of St-Pierre & Miquelon. Here cruisers can explore the last remnants of the former colonial territory of New France and enjoy the uniquely French architecture, cafes and people.

Another highlight is the call to Red Bay, Labrador, Canada. This is a rare call for this destination as it is set to only receive three other calls from major cruise lines in 2024.

Bar Harbor, Maine will be the last port of call before disembarking in Boston, Massachusetts on August 20.

This 24-day voyage to Iceland and Greenland is part of Holland America Line’s “homeport initiative” which allows guests to “see the world from their doorstep.”

The Volendam and Zuiderdam will be offering these unique Canada and New England Discovery Cruises from April to October 2024. Holland America Line says they designed these itineraries to “showcase the region’s delicious seafood, deep maritime history, quintessential charm and natural beauty.”
