Holland America Line is celebrating its 150th anniversary with some special cruises.
Holland America Line is introducing its Heritage Cruises to celebrate its history. There will be 48 Heritage Cruises rolled out over the next year. According to the company’s press release, special itineraries will sail in Alaska, the Caribbean, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Australia/New Zealand, Hawaii, South America and Mexico.
“As a beloved company that’s been around for 150 years, these special Heritage Cruises allow us to continue celebrating Holland America Line with our guests in a meaningful way,” said Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line. “We have a deep connection to ports around the world, and we’re excited to show how each highlighted destination has shaped our brand.”
Holland America Line has called on hundreds of ports around the world. The Heritage Cruises will call on 56 ports. Display screens onboard will show the ports’ historical moments. They will also display photos and fun information.
There will be Heritage Cruises exclusive experiences like special dinner menus with regional dishes. There will be a Throwback Happy Hour where time rolls back and select drinks are priced as low as 75 cents. There will be a Dutch High Tea, classic cruise activities such as Sjoelen and anniversary-themed trivia.
A Captain’s Gala Menu will be featured one evening in the Dining Room. It is a collection of classic dishes coming from previous Holland America Line menus. There is a new exclusive Holland America Line “De Lijn” gin featured in three anniversary cocktails: Dutch 150, 150th Martini and 150th Gin and Tonic.
The visual telling of the company’s history, Origin Story, will be offered in the World Stage. The audience will go on an emotional journey from founding to present day Holland America Line.
Mariner Society members will receive a 150th Anniversary Royal Goedewaagen tile and everyone can purchase limited-edition 150th Anniversary items in the shops.
Holland America Lines 150th Anniversary Transatlantic Crossing departs from New York on April 6, 2023 and ends in Rotterdam on April 18 which is the cruise line’s 150th birthday.
