Holland America Line Expanding Entertainment Options

Holland America Line is expanding its award-winning entertainment options and introducing new mainstage shows for 2024.

“Over the past several years we’ve built one of the strongest entertainment experiences at sea, working with world-class musicians and dancers,” said Bill Prince, vice president of entertainment and enrichment. “Adding these new theater experiences continues to build on our momentum.”

Four new shows debuted on Eurodam in February 2024 followed by Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, and Zuiderdam through June 2024. The shows are “Song & Dance,” a concert of musical numbers from Broadway and Hollywood; “Class Act,” Las Vegas goes to sea celebrating iconic female performers; “All That!,” a nod to classic TV variety shows of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s; and “Hey, Mr. DJ,” an iconic radio DJ playing hits from the 60’s through today’s hit pop music.

In addition to the new mainstage shows, the cruise line is introducing productions specific to the destination the ship is sailing as well as the length of the cruise. Guests will experience different entertainment as they cruise in Alaska, the Caribbean, Europe, South America and around the world.

Caribbean cruises aboard Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Eurodam will experience Island Magic, orchestral steel drum concerts whose repertoire ranges from traditional island music to unique versions of classical and pop music. Cruisers aboard Volendam and Zuiderdam sailing to Canada and New England will enjoy an authentic Nova Scotia music experience called Breton Thunder. Cruises in Europe aboard Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam and Zuiderdam will offer classical string music with the Chordial Chamber Trio and Pantheon, a group of European tenors.

Alaskan cruises will introduce Destination: Alaska, a show designed to get guests excited about Alaska. Also onboard will be Major Fourth, four singers in harmony covering all genres and decades. Step One Dance Company will continue to be onboard with their blend of choreography with artistic video projection.

After being a success on Noordam, Oosterdam, Zuiderdam and Westerdam, Rolling Stone Lounge was added to Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam in December 2023 and showcases a seven-piece band playing rock, pop and R&B. Billboard Onboard is an updated piano bar playing Billboard’s chart-topping hits featuring a different theme every evening while B.B. King’s Blues Club is the featured music scene on Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam and Rotterdam. Holland America Line has also introduced a classical music trio on the mainstage on select European voyages and in the Explorer’s Lounge on Grand and Legendary Voyages.
