Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Firenze will debut this month and introduce a new way to shop with first-at-sea technology. Carnival Cruise Line has partnered with Effy Jewelry to offer guests a shopping experience that uses a digital kiosk allowing guests to browse more than 100 rings.
Guests will be able to use the kiosk to browse the ring designs, find a piece that interests them and then see how it will look on their hand. This ability to “try on” rings is accomplished through artificial reality technology where guests scan an image of their hand and quickly see how it will look. While Carnival Firenze is the first to have this feature, guests will see the kiosk in Effy spaces on additional ships soon.
“Showcasing Effy’s timeless pieces in this way, leveraging technology, creates a truly innovative and personal shopping experience for our guests. Our guests love Effy jewelry, and this new virtual component gives them the ability to quickly visualize how several perfectly sized pieces will look in a fraction of the time it might take to try on multiple items throughout the store. The kiosk puts beautiful designs right at their fingertips,” said Luis Terife, Carnival’s vice president of onboard guest commerce.
Carnival Firenze will be the 27th ship in Carnival’s fleet when she debuts from Long Beach, California. The ship will also hold the 27th Effy Jewelry store after a recent fleetwide expansion. The cruise line and jewelry store have collaborated on other enhancements as well. Carnival Vista recently debuted a larger Effy store with an elevated in-store experience with upgrades coming to other ships. The two companies have also worked together to offer special VIP cruises.
“We are thrilled to launch our first digital kiosk on Carnival Firenze. Our focus with this initiative was to create a fun interactive in-store experience that allows our customers to access product beyond the footprint of the store,” said Bobby Hematian, president of Effy Jewelry. “We are grateful to Carnival for the continuous support in cruise retail innovation. Our partnership, over the years, has been driven by a shared passion in travel, family, FUN and, of course, jewelry! I am excited to see how our teams partner in this next evolution of retail experiences!”
The Vista-class Carnival Firenze is inspired by the city of Florence, Italy and the second “Carnival Fun Italian Style” ship. She will sail year-round from Long Beach, California on April 25, 2024 beginning with a 7-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera.
