Holland America Line’s Rotterdam is back and better than ever! She has been in a two-week dry dock in the Netherlands and has returned to service with more space and additional venues.
The crew aboard Rotterdam welcomed guests on April 26, 2026, to experience updated Vista Suites, more venues for live music, an upgraded Effy shop, and updated finishes throughout the ship.
One big change is the live music experiences throughout the ship. Billboard Onboard and Rolling Stone Lounge now feature additional seating, as well as a redesigned central lounge, allowing guests to enjoy live music from both venues. A new music stage debuted at Crow’s Nest, where guests can enjoy panoramic views while enjoying live performances, lectures, and enrichment programming. At the Sea View Pool, guests will find another new live music stage and bandstand, allowing them to enjoy outdoor performances both day and night.
Various upgrades designed to make traveling together a better experience were implemented. For example, twenty-two Vista Suites were upgraded with new sofa beds, making for a more comfortable sleeping space for up to four guests.
Rotterdam’s interior was refreshed with the installation of new carpeting across staterooms, guest corridors, and public spaces. Tables were updated in the main dining room, allowing for more flexible seating. Main public spaces received upgrades such as furniture being reupholstered, wood chairs and floors being refinished, and walls receiving new coverings.
The Greenhouse Spa & Salon was updated with a new, more ergonomic hair-washing station, making the experience more comfortable for both client and stylists. The ship’s casino now features approximately 20 additional slot machines, new seating, and updated carpeting. Additionally, televisions were installed in the table games area, providing a more suitable environment.
Rotterdam’s dry dock included a refurbished Effy Jewelry retail venue. The updates match those completed on the cruise line’s Koningsdam, Westerdam, and Zuiderdam. The boutique received new flooring, wall finishes, as well as lighting and display fixtures. Guests will also notice upgraded signage, pedestal and wall displays, refreshed ceiling finishes, and a new central chandelier, all of which lend themselves to a brighter, more contemporary, yet inviting look for guests.
Rotterdam will now spend her summer in Northern Europe sailing 7-day itineraries to historic cities and along the scenic coastlines of the region.
