Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Wish Cast and Crew Spreading Holiday Magic

Spreading holiday joy and magical memories, Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Wish cast and crew members, along with Mickey Mouse, surprised the students and teachers at Albury Sayle Primary School in Nassau recently while the ship was in port.

Bernadette Sweeting-Miller, Disney Cruise Line Public Affairs Manager, said, “Disney Cruise Line ships visit Nassau every week, all year long, and for many of our crew members, this community feels like home. It means so much to us to bring some Disney magic off the ship and create memorable moments for local students, especially this time of year.”

A total of 150 primary school students were able to meet, hug and take a photo with Mickey Mouse. Additionally, all the students were given a Disney toy to take home.

”It’s been said that ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ This is best seen in the educational arena as the community and organizations like Disney Cruise Line come together to improve the lives of our students,” said Naria Holbert, principal, Albury Sayle Primary School. “We are grateful for Disney Cruise Line’s support and the generous contributions they’ve provided our school for more than a decade.”

This year, Mickey Mouse has traveled globally to spread holiday magic and joy as part of the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive supporting the Marine Toys for Tots. Mickey has made 12 stops at various schools, hospitals and nonprofit organizations all over the world. He has traveled to destinations like Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Hawaii, Washington DC, California, and more before returning to Florida to join the US Marines and Disney VoluntEARS at Walt Disney World.

Disney Cruise Line has been supporting the port communities in The Bahamas for many years. Not only have they spread holiday magic in The Bahamas, but the cruise line will continue to spread holiday magic to schools in Eleuthera, home to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, and Abaco, home to Castaway Cay.
