Cruise Ship Monday
Grandeur of the Seas
Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas debuted on December 14, 1996. The Vision-class ship is the oldest and smallest ship still in service for the cruise line.
She was initially deployed from Miami, Florida to sail 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruises. In 2000, Explorer of the Seas debuted and took over those voyages. Since then, Grandeur of the Seas has been deployed from Europe, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and New Orleans. She has sailed from Norfolk, Baltimore and Philadelphia.
Currently, Grandeur of the Seas offers the ultimate Caribbean voyage. She sails from Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida offering Southern and Western Caribbean sailings. Many of the voyages visit the cruise line’s private destinations of Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas and Labadee, Haiti.
Grandeur of the Seas features 12 total decks, of which 11 are guest decks. In her 996 interior, ocean view, balcony and suite staterooms she can accommodate 1,992 guests at double occupancy.
Grandeur of the Seas offers complimentary and specialty dining. Windjammer offers casual and complimentary eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Park Café is another complimentary option as a laid-back dining spot. Stop by Café Latte-tudes for your morning (or evening) brew. Chops Grille is the ship’s specialty steakhouse, while Izumi offers specialty Asian-inspired dishes. Giovanni’s Table spotlights specialty Italian Old-World entrees, and a reservation at Chef’s Table gives its guests the most exclusive specialty dining experience. Of course, the Main Dining Room always offers an incredible feast every night, or there is always 24/7 room service.
Grandeur of the Seas features a number of bars and lounges including Fantaseas, R Barm Solarium Bar, Schooner Bar, South Pacific Lounge and the Pool Bar. Guests can relax and rejuvenate at the Vitality Spa or strap up and enjoy the complimentary Rock Climbing Wall. Kids (and adults) will want to play their favorite 80s and 90s games at the Royal Caribbean Arcade or watch movies poolside.
Evenings aboard the ship offer show stopping entertainment. Those that love a good Broadway show will want to catch the Broadway Rhythm & Rhyme show which includes iconic hits from all your favorite musicals. Grandeur of the Seas showcases an original Royal Caribbean production All Access which brings hits from the last four decades of Motown, Soul and Pop to life. Tango Buenos Aires brings dance to the stage via the streets of Argentina.
Whether you prefer to shop, take in a game show, enjoy live music, or test the fates, Grandeur of the Seas will be a grand adventure.
