It’s Cruise Ship Monday!
Today brings us Carnival Cruise Line’s Vista and Venezia-class–Carnival Vista (2016), Carnival Horizon (2018), Carnival Panorama (2019), Carnival Venezia (2023) and Carnival Firenze (2024). At their inception, the Vista- and Venezia-class ships were the largest ships with the most amenities in the Carnival fleet.
Both Vista and Venezia-classes of ships have similar layouts and are about the same size. Carnival Venezia and Carnival Firenze were initially built for Costa Cruises, Carnival’s Italian sister brand. Carnival Venezia and Carnival Firenze joined the Carnival fleet in 2023 and 2024 respectively offering “Carnival Fun Italian Style.”
The Vista-class ships–Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon and Carnival Panorama–were the first ships to have exclusive, keycard areas. Those areas are the Havana Cabanas and the Family Harbor. The Havana Cabanas are restricted to passengers 12 and above, while the Family Harbor is geared toward families.
Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon debuted with the first IMAX theaters in the cruise industry and Carnival Panorama partnered with Sky Zone to debut with the first trampoline park on a cruise ship. All of the ships have water parks and waterslides on their top decks, miniature golf and ropes courses and multiple pools. They also have the pedal-powered SkyRide attraction where you can bike around the ship above the deck and the ocean.
Aboard Carnival Horizon, guests will find a Dr. Suess themed water park, the most unique water park within the Carnival fleet. Aboard Carnival Venezia, guests will find more waterslides than any other ship in this class.
Carnival Panorama and Carnival Horizon feature Guy’s Pig & Anchor which offers beers brewed onsite and barbecue from Guy Fieri. Each of the ships offers Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina (called Tomodoro on Carnival Venezia), sushi restaurants and steakhouses. Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon and Carnival Panorama offer Italian eatery Cucina del Capitano and Jiji Asian Kitchen. Carnival Venezia also offers II Viaggio, an Italian restaurant. Carnival Horizon, Carnival Panorama, Carnival Venezia and Carnival Firenze all offer teppanyaki restaurants.
Carnival Vista sails from Port Canaveral throughout the Caribbean offering 2- to 9-night itineraries. Carnival Horizon also offers 2- to 9-night itineraries throughout the Caribbean embarking from PortMiami. Carnival Panorama sails from Los Angeles to ports of call throughout Mexico offering 2- to 9-night voyages. Carnival Venezia offers 2- to 10+night itineraries from either New York City or Port Canaveral. Her voyages include ports of call in the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada and New England, the Caribbean and the Panama Canal. Carnival Firenze sails 2- to 9-night voyages from Los Angeles to ports of call in Mexico.
