Welcome to the weekly Cruise News Digest. Here you can catch up on the past week’s cruise news and all things La Lido Loca

Let’s dive in!

Mondays have become Cruise Ship Monday. This week highlighted Grandeur of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas will sail Asia for the 2026-27 season. Bookings are now open from Shanghai and Hong Kong for 2- to 9-night voyages which will explore some of Asia’s most popular destinations in Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and more. The voyages will begin sailing in May 2026.

Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady is making her way to North America and bringing some spectacular new entertainment with her. Brilliant Lady will introduce original productions and “Happenings” events in her Red Room and The Manor. Sailors can celebrate 50 years of Virgin Records, help fix a time machine, solve a murder mystery, enjoy a “classic-sit-on-a-stool-a-sing” event, and so much more when they sail the fourth and final Virgin Voyages ship beginning this fall.

Norwegian Cruise Line took delivery of its first Prima Plus Class ship, Norwegian Aqua, on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The ship, which is 10% larger in size and capacity than her sister ships, will offer several first including the Aqua Slidecoaster, the Aqua Game Zone, the Glow Court, and the largest 360-degree promenade–Ocean Boulevard.

Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure have entered a wet dock to update their appearance and features. They will emerge as Carnival Encounter and Carnival Adventure returning to service on March 29, 2025. Guests will be pleased to find a blend of the energy of Carnival’s “Fun Ship” with the charm of P&O Cruises Australia when they stop onboard the newly rebranded ships.
