Exciting news from Royal Caribbean International as the cruise line has opened bookings aboard its Quantum Ultra Class Spectrum of the Seas for cruisers who are excited to sail and explore the Far East. She will begin sailing 4- and 7-night voyages in April 2024 when she departs Shanghai and sails to popular destinations in Japan. Her return to China is sure to be an experience to remember.

New out of the Nassau Cruise Port says they have welcomed 2.2 million passengers through June 2023. This is greater than the number welcomed by the same time in 2019. Nassau Cruise Port just keeps breaking records. Will they reach that 4.2 million passenger mark they are on track to reach?

There is more “first” news from Adora Cruises’ Adora Magic at Sea. Adora Cruises announced the first Chinese-built cruise ship, Adora Magia at Sea, will debut the first brewery at sea in Asia when she sets sail later this year.

Celebrity Cruises has raised daily gratuities once again. This is the second time in nine months, and they go into effect Tuesday, July 11, 2023. While some may be upset by this news, it is good to keep in mind that these gratuities do go directly to those crew members who make sure our cruising is an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Speaking of those crew members, Royal Caribbean International released details on the crew member neighborhood on the upcoming Icon of the Seas. The cruise line consulted with over 1,000 crew members of different nationalities, onboard positions, and ages and then designed the crew neighborhood around the ideas with which they were presented. Icon of the Seas will have about 2300 crew members from 80 countries who will be the first to experience a completely revamped crew area which will cover four decks, and include redesigned lounge areas, cabins and amenities.

News from German cruise line AIDA Cruises is the installation and rollout of SpaceX’s Starlink broadband on three of its ships, with the entire fleet to be fully equipped by mid-October 2023. This technology will not only give passengers a better internet experience while traveling, but crew members will also be able to have more consistent access to friends and family via social media and more allowing them to feel more at home while at sea.
