Welcome to the weekly Cruise News Digest. Here you can catch up on the past week’s cruise news and all things La Lido Loca

Let’s dive in!

We started the week off with a 2023 Cruise News Recap. Twelve of the best or biggest stories from last year.

Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador released the cruise line’s Themed Party List via social media. The cruise line has themed parties on every ship. Whether its the Rock the Promenade, the 80’s Rock-N-Glow, the White Night Silent Party, or the Superhero party, you can check out the list and plan accordingly.

The world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean International’s Icon of the Seas made her way into the Caribbean to Ponce, Puerto Rico on January 2, 2024. She is expected to arrive in PortMiami on Tuesday morning, January 9, 2024 to an iconic welcome celebration.

A new year also brings a lineup of new ship builds from across the industry. We will see the world’s largest cruise ship, the last of Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis Class ships, two TUI Cruises’ vessels, the first new build of Cunard Line in over ten years, Princess Cruises’ largest ship to date, an adults-only ship from Viking Cruises, a new Explora Journeys ship, and a little magic from Disney all before 2025.

Carnival Cruise Line celebrated with Amber Cove and Ensenada, Mexico as they each welcomed more than one million guests during 2023. Mardi Gras disembarked the Collier Family at Amber Cove on December 20, 2023, while Carnival Radiance disembarked the Andrus Family at Ensenada, Mexico on December 27, 2023, making them the destinations one millionth guest this year. “This year, we’re celebrating that no one does fun like Carnival, and it’s also true that no cruise line drives demand and the tourism economy like Carnival! We’re delighted that our guests set these important distinctions for both Amber Cove and Ensenada,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy.

2024 is looking to be a good year for cruising. From new ship builds to refurbished ships, from expanded private island offerings to enhanced products and services, from themed cruises to world cruises, and everything in between, the Top 3, Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings are looking forward to a great 2024.
