Welcome to the weekly Cruise News Digest. Here you can catch up on the past week’s cruise news and all things La Lido Loca

Let’s dive in!

Princess Cruises is partnering with Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher and Texas native cattle rancher, Nolan Ryan to create a remarkable eating experience onboard Regal Princess sailing out of Galveston. Cruisers will now be able to enjoy Goodstock by Nolan Ryan Angus beef, a premium Black-Angus beef. That beef is now available in the award-winning steakhouse, Crown Grill, and the main dining rooms.

Carnival Jubilee has been delivered to Carnival Cruise Line just days before she is to welcome her first guests at the port of Galveston. On December 23, 2023, she will welcome guests for the first time and sail week-long Western Caribbean voyages.

On December 6, 2023, Royal Caribbean International officially opened bookings for its next Icon-class ship–Star of the Seas. This comes just a week after the cruise line took delivery of its first Icon-class ship–Icon of the Seas. With Star of the Seas debuting in Port Canaveral and Icon of the Seas calling PortMiami her home, Royal Caribbean will be offering “the two world’s best vacations in two of the world’s top travel destinations.”

MSC Cruises also opened bookings for its MSC World Cruise in 2026 aboard MSC Magnifica. The 119-day cruise will include 47 ports of call in 32 countries across five continents. MSC Magnifica will cross the equator twice while sailing 36,000 nautical miles. The journey allows for seven overnight stays with full day stays at all other calls.

Margaritaville at Sea is expanding its fleet. They are adding a second ship–Margaritaville at Sea Islander–to serve as the cruise line’s flagship from Tampa, Florida. Margaritaville at Sea Islander will debut on June 14, 2024, and offer four- and five-night cruises with ports of call in Key West, Cozumel and Progresso. The ship is currently in Europe receiving an extensive transformation. All 1,100 staterooms are being redesigned with “custom styling reminiscent of the sand, sea and sky” along with Margaritaville’s signature bedding, pillows and linens.

Princess Cruises announced a new specialty dining venue aboard its first Sphere-class ship, Sun Princess, when she debuts in February 2024. The cruise line has partnered with Romero Britto to create Love by Britto at the aft of Sun Princess on deck 17. Love by Bistro will feature a menu curated by Master Chef Rudi Sodamin which will transcend guests into a mulitsensory exploration with the offering of dishes that embody “passion, exquisite flavor, and boundless creativity.”
